{Book Review} Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Demigod Files

The Demigod Files (Percy Jackson and the Olympians)The Demigod Files by Rick Riordan

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Armed with three short stories, camp interviews, God profiles–with descriptions of the Gods’ modern human attire and a bit of their background mythology, short biodatas and weapon descriptions, the Demigod Files is a decent companion piece to the Percy Jackson series.

However, aside from the new short stories about Percy’s adventures (2 out of 3 happen out of Camp/Summer season), we basically learn nothing new that we haven’t already gotten from the first four Percy Jackson books. Everything here has already been mentioned in previous books.

I do wish there’d been more substance or new information, especially from the interviews, as it would have been a great way to show more of the other characters’ personalities–we could’ve seen a side or interests we didn’t previously know about them–but Rick Riordan stuck to his already-set and compact/non-changing characters.
